| With so many skiable terrain, Whistler/Blackcomb is the biggest
in North America. |
You
could be here for one season and not ski every run that we
have
here.
Surely, during your short stay
here you will leave wanting to come back at least a few times
to fully discover all that Whistler/Blackcomb has to offer. |
|
There are a few things that
you can do to ensure that you get the most out of your ski
day. (Especially during the high seasons)
Get
up there as soon as the lifts open, and prior to that call
the snowphone which will let you know the temperatures at the
top and bottom as well as the runs of the day and all other
pertinent information to what is happening on the mountain.(604-932-4211)
If you are an accomplished skier and the visibility
is good, go straight to the top; the Peak chair on Whistler
or 7th Heaven on Blackcomb. You can remain there until the
crowds show up at around 10:30am.
After head to the mid mountain and/or even an early lunch which
will enable you to not have to fight the crowds for lunch.
Another good "secret" is to head to the Garbanzo
chair on Whistler and the
Crystal chair on Blackcomb after lunch, these areas are great
and somewhat underused. If you wanted to get to know the mountain,
there are free mountain tours, check the hut at the top of
the Solar Coaster chair on Blackcomb and the top of the Whistler
Gondola on Whistler mountain.
Truly the best way to get acquainted with the mountain as well
as improving your skiing is to take a lesson. There are many
lessons to choose from for both kids and adults.
